Older Youth, Independent Living
The Older Youth Program at The Children’s Home of Easton provides a supportive, family-centered independent living experience for young people transitioning into adulthood. Located on campus, Zigmund Hall is licensed by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania under 3800 regulations and serves youth ages 16–21 through a personalized independent living curriculum designed to prepare them for long-term success.
The purpose of the Independent Living Program is to support youth who are unable to live with their biological or substitute families and have no stable place to return to. Our goal is to equip them with the tools, skills, and confidence needed to live independently.

The program serves up to eight individuals at a time and provides:
-
Safe, stable housing
-
Financial assistance
-
Emotional and environmental support
-
Individualized case management
-
Community engagement opportunities
Each participant must be actively engaged in a full-time program, such as:
-
High school or GED completion
-
Community college
-
Trade or vocational school
-
Employment
As part of the admission process, applicants are required to submit a written plan outlining their goals and explaining why they should be selected to reside in Zigmund Hall and participate in the Independent Living Program.
